Dear Friends of L.E. Senior Center

The community of Eau Claire and surrounding areas have an amazing jewel in it midst...the L. E. Phillips Senior Center.  A beautiful Center including a state-of-the art fitness room, conference rooms, multipurpose rooms and much more!  If you have not had the opportunity to see our Center, I would encourage you to do so.  Buildings are great, and they provide us an avenue to offer programs and services, but what really matters is the other types of building that is happening at the center.

Although I have only been the director for a few short months, I am seeing each and every day the impact that our organization is having on the members. Whether it is a coffee group sitting around the table sharing stories, laughter and sometimes hardship, the camaraderie in fitness classes, or a game of pool, relationships are being built.

I see people in the fitness room who are increasing the time spent on a treadmill or bike, or increasing the weights on one of our strength machines, or walking steadily across a balance beam. Strength is being built.

Each day there are so many programs happening, including educational programs, cards games, creative artists, crafters, and Mah-Jongg encouraging our mental capacity to be used and stretched. Mental health is being built.

I am asking your help to continue “building” on the wonderful things that are happening at the L. E. Phillips Senior Center. We try hard to keep our membership dues affordable. We never want cost to be the deterrent to anyone. But as you are seeing everywhere, expenses are rising.

Your contribution to our Friends Campaign will help us in continuing the great work that is being done. Some of you may have already made a contribution this year and we thank you; rest assured your gift is already hard at work. If you have not, please consider a gift to our center. All gifts are tax deductible, and we have included an envelope for your convenience.

Sincerely,

Jackie
