L. E. Phillips Senior Center

FAQ

How do I join?

You can join online here or stop in to the L.E. Phillips Senior Center between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

How is the L. E. Phillips Senior Center funded? Are you part of the city or county government?

We are an independent 501 C 3 non-profit.

The center is funded three ways:

  1. Membership - Our most important source of revenue is YOU! We are thankful that you have invested in the center, and most importantly in your health and actively aging.
  2. Grants, Donations & Special Events - Our annual Friends of the L.E. Phillips Senior Center campaign and special events such as the Water Street Mile help to balance the budget and keep membership fees as low as possible. Each year the staff submits grants to enhance programs at the center and help offset staff costs. Grants are not a guaranteed source of income, but we are very thankful when we receive them.
  3. City & County - Although we are an independent 501 C 3, we are very grateful to receive yearly funding from the county and city to help keep our memberships affordable.

What is your Winter Closing Policy?

The Senior Center will decide on closing due to inclement weather by 6 am. The closing will be posted on our website, Facebook, WQOW and WEAU. Closing will not necessarily follow decisions of the ECASD. Closing early due to the arrival of inclement weather will be posted in the same places listed above. Individual classes will be based on instructor availability and cancelled classes will be posted on the website as known. Always err on the side of caution in making your decision to travel if the Center is open.
